Christmas With The Super Heroes
As a kid, I always enjoyed DC's Blue Ribbon digest sized comics. I had a pretty good run of them during the late 70's-early 80's. One of my favorite issues was #22, with cover art by Rich Buckler and Dick Girodano, which spotlighted various Christmas stories through the years. First up was "The TT's Swingin' Christmas Carol" by Bob Haney and Nick Cardy from Teen Titans #13 (January-February, 1968).
The next yuletide tale was "Merry Christmas" from Batman #247 (February, 1973) by Denny O'Neil, Irv Novick and Dick Giordano.
We then jump back to the Golden Age for "Freddy Freeman's Christmas" by Bud Thompson from Captain Marvel Jr. #46 (February, 1947).
Next we have this Bill Finger-Jerry Robinson gem from Batman #27 (February-March, 1945).
We then had a special Christmas treat with this previously unpublished Michael Fleisher, Jack Kirby, and Mike Royer Sandman tale.
We continue with more Bronze Age goodness with "Robin's (Very) White Christmas from Batman Family #4 (March-April, 1976) by Bob Rozakis, Jose Delbo, and Vince Colletta.
And finally, we finish up with ""The Man Who Murdered Santa Claus" by Len Wein, Dick Dillin, and Dick Giordano from Justice League Of America #110 (March-April, 1974).
I had a great time rereading these stories and I hope that everyone has a very happy Holiday Season.
