Welcome To The House Of Mystery
House Of Mystery was one of DC Comics' longest running horror titles. It ran for 321 issues from 1951-1983. It featured artwork by many of the all time greats in the field, including in its Bronze Age run, Neal Adams, Nick Cardy, Jack Sparling, and many, many others. Here are some of my favorite covers from the series' entire run, courtesy of the Grand Comics Database.
I wonder if Dick Dillin had just come back from seeing Creature From The Black Lagoon when he did this cover.
These last three covers come from the early Bronze Age, which was the book's high point, in my opinion.
Most of these Bronze Age stories have been reprinted in the indispensible Showcase Presents series. These stories look great in black and white and are a must have for any horror fan, even if you have the original issues. You can order them here.
